Who may use the tracks and for what purposes
Prerequisites
- There is no charge for copyright fees or any other usage fees when using the tracks.
- Users do not need to display copyright notices or provider credits when using the tracks.
- Composers/creators may set separate usage conditions. In that case, the composer/creator’s conditions take precedence, and for items not explicitly stated, the Audio Asset Use License applies (however, the license takes precedence regarding the prerequisites of no usage fees/no copyright notice and the Prohibitions).
Who can use the tracks
- Both individuals and corporations may use them.
- Use is allowed for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
- The same conditions apply for use from overseas as within Japan.
Use as background music
Tracks may be used as background (secondary) music to some other primary content (use as background music).
Examples:
- Use in TV programs or commercials
- Use in stage productions (plays, readings, etc.)
- Use for submitting to video contests
- Use for school assignments
- Use in online video/content distribution on YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, IRIAM, Podcasts, and other user-posting services
- Use in live broadcasts for video, radio, and other programs
- Use in stores, weddings, and other events
- Use in paid or free apps (iPhone, Android, etc.) and web services
- Use in paid or free products/works (games, DVDs, etc.)
- Use in presentation videos or materials created with Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.
※ Use where the track itself is the main content (e.g., “music for working,” “web radio whose main subject is introducing music”) is prohibited (see Prohibitions). Also, embedding tracks into tool apps, platforms, etc., and licensing to their users (secondary users) requires prior consultation with our administration.
Use in musical works (covers, playthroughs, etc.)
Use is permitted only when you add musical creativity to the original (cover/arrangement/adding vocals/sampling, etc.) and distribute it on UGC services (user-uploaded, free-to-watch internet services such as YouTube, TikTok). See Performances/Covers on UGC for details.
Editing
Converting file formats, applying effects, cutting intros, looping, and other edits to fit your work are allowed (edits that make the track substantially diverge from the original are not permitted).
