We are pleased to announce that the free BGM platform “DOVA-SYNDROME” will lift its previous ban on the use of its tracks for instrumental performances and singing, effective June 22, 2026, limited to posts on social media platforms such as YouTube and TikTok.
In addition, we have begun a partnership with “Kokomu,” a sheet music distribution service that is highly compatible with music creators active on platforms such as YouTube, and will gradually begin selling sheet music for select songs. Through this initiative, we aim to support the activities of creators who perform and sing, while also providing new revenue streams for music producers and helping artists gain greater recognition.

In recent years, the culture of UGC (user-generated content)—in which people perform and sing existing songs themselves on social media—has continued to grow. Against this backdrop, we have received numerous requests for DOVA-SYNDROME’s songs—not just as “background music” for videos, but as pieces that people want to “play” or “sing” themselves.
In response to this situation, DOVA-SYNDROME has, as a general rule, restricted the use of its music for performances and singing. This was primarily due to the following reasons:
As a result, it was difficult to establish a system that would both meet the requests of performers who have a deep attachment to the songs and protect the rights of the songwriters.
Through the strengthening of our corporate management structure and external partnerships, we have now established the necessary regulations, enabling us to officially lift the ban on posting musical and singing content on social media. Through this initiative, we aim to realize the following three values:
This will put an end to the current situation where “the melody is familiar, but neither the title nor the composer is known.” By spreading awareness of composers’ names through performances and singing, we will establish BGM composers as “artists” and lay the groundwork for building a fan base.
To create an environment that is user-friendly for performers, we have partnered with the sheet music sales service “Kokomu.” By providing official sheet music, we aim to accurately convey the value of our music and support performers in their activities.
We will in no way compromise the existing convenience of “free and worry-free use for video creators.” Furthermore, we will establish a system whereby new revenue streams—such as added value from performances and sheet music sales—are returned to the creators.

DOVA-SYNDROME and TRACKS.inc have long supported the distribution and rights protection of “music for use,” with a focus on video production. With this new policy, we aim to become a platform that supports a broader creative community, including “performers,” “singers,” “streamers,” and “those who promote music”. Even in this era of rapidly increasing AI-generated content, we will continue to support music born from human creative activityand provide an environment where creators can work with peace of mind.
